In the beginning
I’ve been a cyclist since 1997. Buying a bike was the best opportunity to spend my holiday in an active way, having no money for traveling :)
After 7 months of saving I purchased a beautiful mountain bike with cro-mo frame and full Shimano Alivio groupset. Not having enough money to service the bike I decided to learn how to fix it by myself. Soon I was able to adjust gears, brakes, shift a tube, replace some cables. It was fun, so I learned more and more. From a simple multitool up to a box full of basic wrenches. In 2000 I built my first bike from scratch. Fitting forks, hydraulic brakes, replacing the drivetrain bits - in more complicated cases I borrowed some space at two local bike shops, the owners became my friends and I used this opportunity to learn more and work in more comfortable conditions.

Some cyclists started to ask me for help, servicing their bikes, doing more complicated things.
In 2009 I got a job at Trek Bicycle Shop. First months as bike builder and as mechanic later on - they decided to give me more responsible tasks. I had a lot of experience servicing full suspension bikes and fixing suspension forks became my speciality. I liked electric Shimano systems I became di2 specialist as well :)
Working for someone else was fun but I wanted to become independent - that was the reason for offering bicycle services to the local cycling community in Dewsbury, Mirfield, Heckmondwike. And in April 2020 the perfect moment to open my own, independent bicycle workshop.
Bicycle Guru
The Bicycle Guru workshop was born!
I have had many customers since then. They talked about me to their friends, the feedback was very positive, more and more people visited me, some of them many times.
I had customers from the area I live but people from Leeds, Wakefield, Marsden and even Manchester came to me. Their satisfaction is the best advertisement for me.
Started from scratch, having some simple tools, many years ago. Now - a fully equipped workshop that offers all types of service for road, mountain, commuter, children and many other bicycles.
It was a long way from getting a bicycle to spend nice holiday to offering services to other people's bikes.
